DONALD BIED

I photograph as I experience a journey and later I organize the experience by creating composite pictures. These pictures are constructed by using overlapping and intertwined scenes that may or may not have been computer manipulated. The computer assisted images are then printed on archival papers using inkjet technology. For me, the final image has the same impact/meaning as an entry found in a personal journal.

Donald Morris Bied was raised in Los Angeles and completed his undergraduate degree at Art Center College of Design. He has also received an MA in Painting and Drawing from California State University, Los Angeles and an MFA in Printmaking from SUNY at Buffalo. Bied spent ten years in NYC and has also lived, worked and exhibited in California, Florida and other regions of the country. Bied currently lives and works in Jacksonville, Florida.
