LAURA MEGA
My work deals with the political and social situation in which I live every day. Playful, quirky, and almost humorous at first glance but full of pain, frustration, and heartache beyond appearances. The support used are trousseau sheets to give the idea of intimate protest banners. As a background I use pink cosmetic wax; it represents the fragility and pain that women endure as a burden of femininity.
The letters are individually stamped and form words carry the weight of my thoughts and emotions.
